49er fans are returning home. katie marzullo has more from new orleans. >> it is heartbreak city here in new orleans for 49er fans today. look at the front page of the newspaper oillet electrifying, baltimore survivors san francisco's second half surge" a reference to the game and what happened inside the superdome. the lights went out for a full 34 minutes early in the second half. some jokes it was because of the half time performance of beyonce but in the end it was abnormality in the system that slipped a breaker which was a turning point in the game. the ravens seemed to loose momentum and the 49ers were inspired and they poured the touchdowns in the second half, i was on the plaza level inside the superdome and it was deafening. niner fans so excited, really, they saw the team had a chance and they could pull it off after being down so much in the first half. as you know, it was not minute to be, niners left with their heads hanging but that is all right, the faithful are not going anywhere. hopefully everyone had a great time in new orleans and enjoyed a great game signing off

to the skies today despite a world-wide grounding of the jet amid a safety investigation. katie marzullo is back from new orleans in the newsroom. this is a test flight, right? >> it is. where are the beignets, by the way? the f.a.a. is allowing boeing to conduct a ferry flight with a 787 from texas to washington state today. the only people are those needed to operate the flight. the flight will be used to test the batteries which are believed to be the cause of a fire in early january that forced the grounding of the fleet. the crew must continuously monitor the flight computer for battery-related messages and land immediately if a message pops up. also, the national transportation board will publicly quoting boeing and the f.a.a. asking if the batteries were adequately tested. united is taking the boeing 787 dreamliner out of the flying plans for the month but will start new 787 flights from denver to tokyo march 31. japan has canceled their 787 flying through march 30. boeing's vice president for sales in asia pacific and india says the company will address compensation claims from t

with a violent history. abc7 news continues our team coverage with katie marzullo. >> the officers long and distinguished years with the santa cruz police department, the shooter, 35-year-old goulet had a long history with police dating back a decade. his father admits his son had problems. he had a criminal history that dates back to 2000. media reports say goulet was a military police officer and marine veteran was convicted peeping in california. in 2008 he was convicted of invasion of privacy and illegally having a gun after caught videotaping a woman in the shower. the woman's boyfriend tells an oregon newspaper he confronted goulet multiple times outside of his girlfriend's condo and one time he had a gun and shot at him. he was given probation and sex offender treatment but ended up in jail after getting into more trouble. the santa cruz sentinel said he was caught looking in windows again during a meeting with the probation officer. he grew up in california and lived in alabama, colorado, and oregon before the return to california. according to his facebook page, goulet moved to

dorner. katie marzullo is live in our newsroom with more. katie? >> there is a charred body in the cabin. authorities believe it is christopher dorner but proof could take days. the cabin in the mountains where authorities believe he barricaded himself burned for hours. it was too hot and too dangerous for law enforcement to go in. when they did they found the body. the sheriff deputies say identification will attempted through forensic means. law enforcement is not letting their guard do you. >> mr. dorner has been identified as either deceased or handcuffs on him and sitting in jail, until that happens we will continue as if he is out there. >> we have video closeup footage from the ground near the cabin during the stand off showing what appears to be police throwing an object toward the cabin and we hear lots of gunfire. police saw dorner enter but not leave. the stand off in the fire came after dorner allegedly tied up two women and burglarized a different cabin, carjacked a truck and exchanged gunfire with fish and wildlife officers and san bernardino county sheriff deputies. one sh
